Help
Broadband Connection
First, you'll need a great connection from your broadband provider. The faster your connection the better the quality we can give you.
Use a speed tester to check your broadband connection (we like: www.speedtest.net, or use your broadband provider’s test, or any of the speed testers available on the web). A minimum connection speed North of 1.5 MPS is required for quality viewing.
If your test shows you getting less than you are expecting, please try the following:
Contact your broadband provider for tips or technical support to make sure you are getting the signal you are paying for.
If you are connecting on a wireless network, ensure that it isn’t cutting your speed below required strength. Contact your wireless network provider or hardware company for tips to maximize the signal, or, if possible, use a hard wire connection when viewing streaming video.
Turn off all other open internet connections on your browser before launching Torque.TV.
Check with your IT support team, and/or, if you have the experience, maximize your computer connection using your systems tools to improve you drive and browser performance.
Torque.TV Connection
Torque.TV automatically adjusts the connection speed for your broadband signal. Check the speed of your connection to our Torque.TV servers (Click speed test bar and the connection tab to view you current connection speed).
If the video is stopping try a lower speed and hit reset. (In the connections area you go to "Settings" tab and select a lower bitrate, then click "confirm". The player should refresh and begin playing video again. Also go to the "Settings" tab again and try changing the media servers drop-down list to "Pop1 (http)" or to " mms" if you are already on http.
If there are other options (such as "Pop 2") try those as well. This will stream your content from a different server, which may be less busy.) You will need a minimum constant speed of 400kbps for DSL and 800kbps for Broadband.
Other Issues
Firewalls
Firewalls can stop or slow down the speed of your connection. Configure them to open the relevant ports to enable streaming or contact your IT support.
